Deputy Director of the Microsystems Technology Office
Dev Palmer is the Deputy Director of the Microsystems Technology Officeat the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Arlington, VA, where he sets overall strategy, guides the development of new programs and the execution of existing programs, and identifies and recruits new Program Managers. Prior to joining DARPA, he was Chief Technologist at the Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories, and served tours as Program Manager at DARPA and the Army Research Office, directing R&D portfolios to drive innovation for next-generation electromagnetic spectrum systems. Dr. Palmer is a Fellow of the IEEE and a member of AOC, MRS, Sigma Xi, and USNC-URSI. He received the Army Research Laboratory Award for Program Management in 2010, the Army Superior Civilian Service Medal in 2011, the Secretary of Defense Award for Excellence in 2013, the DARPA Meritorious Service Award in 2017, and the IEEE Region 3 Outstanding Service Award in 2013.
